1. Data Collection & Transmission

AO3 Kudos Explorer operates entirely client-side inside your Chrome browser:

• No External Tracking: We do not run analytics, telemetry, or tracking scripts of any kind.
• No External Servers: No user data, username, or fanfic data is ever sent to external third-party servers. All data stays strictly in your browser.

2. Use of Chrome Extension Permissions

• cookies Permission: Used exclusively to read your active session cookie for archiveofourown.org so the extension can authenticate with AO3 to fetch your Reading History and Bookmarks. Session tokens are never collected or stored externally.
• storage Permission: Used to save your scanned kudos fanfic list and user preferences locally in your browser's chrome.storage.local.
• alarms Permission: Used solely to manage short background keepalive timers while a scan is active, preventing Manifest V3 service worker idle termination.
• Host Permissions (archiveofourown.org): Used exclusively to fetch work blurbs and kudos pages directly from Archive of Our Own.

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties under any circumstances.

4. Data Retention and Control

You have full control over your data. You can clear all saved local data at any time by clicking the Clear All Data button inside the extension, or by uninstalling the extension from Google Chrome.
